Tocorimé 3 day Sailing Adventure Details

An example of the 3 Day Adventure:

Friday: Board the magnificent Tall Ship, Tocorime in the afternoon on Friday as the crew prepares to leave. After a small introduction to the boat the captain will run through the itinerary and a small safety talk.  Champagne and cocktails will be served as you watch the dramatic rocky outcrop of Sugarloaf pass by and the sun gently set over Corcovado Mountain. The shoreline of Rio De Janeiro twinkles in the evening light as the short sail to Ilha Grange begins. Let the sympathetic crew and marvelous catering spoil you immensely. After dinner assist on deck and learn the finer points of sailing, GPS and night navigation techniques or head to your cosy bunk ready for the weekend’s activities ahead.

Saturday: As dawn breaks the boat sets anchor at Enseada das Palmas, Ilha Grande. There As the new day gets under way the captain and crew will discuss the possibilities of the day ahead, for those with diving certification an underwater adventure can be organised with a local diving firm  (Pre-arrangement necessary). This is a perfect vantage point for an excursion to the famous beach of Lopes Mendes voted in the top 10 most beautiful beaches of the world. A dingy ride can ferry passengers to some remote snorkelling spots where you are free to take a picnic and have some individual time. For those who want to learn about the history and building of the unique sailing vessel you are sailing in the captain will be on hand to recount the story of him and four men with a dream deep in the heart of the Amazon. As the evening draws in the crew will prepare a beach barbeque Brazilian style! Night Anchor.

Sunday: An early sail around the south side of the island past the fishing village of Aabrao (assisting crew with the sails or a relaxing hammock snooze are both acceptable) A perfect opportunity to climb the mast and take a look at the multiple island paradise that you have the pleasure of sailing in. Arrival in Sítio Forte where we take a small hike past one of many waterfalls to the “Blue Lagoon” where the Tocorimé is anchored awaiting your return. Perfect crystal clear water and sea life is yours to explore from the boat or with the assistance of our outboard dingy. Lunch will be a grand affair served at your convenience. Mid afternoon the Tocorimé will make course for the beautiful Ilha da Beixiga in Paraty, this is a solitary island where only the Tocorimé has permission to anchor. From here after a final farewell to the captain and crew the dingy will take you ashore for the short bus ride back to Rio.
