Tocorimé & Brazil - Her homeport Paraty is to be recognized as a UNESCO Heritage site, integrating perfectly with the Tocorimé Spirit. The Rio de Janeiro (Green coast) of Brazil.

Building a Dream - She was built by hand in Santarém, Pará, “the Amazon” (2 degrees 26’58”S, 54 degrees 45’40”W) by the founders and creators of this project, supervising & training local hand craftsman in harmony. This is an assurance that this historical vessel promises much more than just a name. Working with extremely limited resources (A “No Budget” Project) her founders René Gerardus de Bruijn, Markus Lehmann, Kit & Markus Smit were truly in an adventurous spirit as they found themselves sweating it out in the Jungle amongst snakes, poisonous insects, terrifying heat and an absolute isolation that only exists in the Brazilian Amazon. So her full name “Tocorimé Pamatojari” meaning “Adventurous Spirit”, in the native tongue of the Kulina tribe of the Brazilian Amazon, is true to her exceptional history.

The Tocorimé Ideology - Besides Adventure Travel and Chartering Events, the Tocorimé sets its course on the development of social-ecological projects with emphasis upon educational impacts. The aim is to utilize the Tocorimé as a worldwide platform to promote these projects, embracing aspects for everyone from street children in 3rd world countries to top-class executives of multi-national organizations. The Tocorimé objective is to progress the understanding of race, religion, environment by uniting the differences in a small floating world of its´ own.

With her sails set the Tocorimé stirs the adventurous and historical interests of all, attracting attention and nostalgia in any representational setting. Also her physical presence provides comfort ideal for; conference, cocktail or luncheon as well as special event settings during day or evening sails.
